Towards Interoperability for Telemedicine Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
The analysis, the modeling and the implementation of an intermediate system for facing the syntactic interoperability problem within an e-health domain for telemedicine applications and related medical information systems is the target of this work. The proposed architecture provides a unique service for interoperability utilizing distributed functional entities and specially structured messages. It facilitates different medical information systems and telemedicine application to visibly handle real world events and information, without any interference in the basic structure of these systems. The performance of the proposed system has been tested using special mechanisms and the evaluation was also performed. The extracted statistics validated the high degree of system’s effectiveness and efficiency.

متن کاملMaking advanced Telemedicine affordable
Telemedicine becomes increasingly important, especially in rural areas or for rare diseases requiring an expert’s opinion. Due to the widespread use of proprietary communication protocols, existing telemedicine approaches can only incorporate a subset of relevant medical devices. Thus, the remote physician is dependent on on-site colleagues and video-based reading of the device and medical para...
متن کاملOpportunities of Telemedicine for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery
Today telemedicine, or eHealth, is an important tool in everyday medical life. In all areas, from the preclinical to aftercare, significant improvements in communication structures have been seen in various eHealth options, which have had significant, positive effects on the quality of patient care in orthopedics and trauma surgery. Initially, there were several isolated solutions and many smal...
متن کاملNavy telemedicine: a review of current and emerging research models.
With extended deployments of military telemedicine to remote, austere, and high-risk settings, there is a danger that implementation will outrun the research designed to assess it. A review of existing research evaluates current assessment models and indicates gaps around which future research may be designed. A review of models for evaluating telemedicine was conducted in September, 2001. Seve...
